AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians)

Description

Accounting Technicians are the skilled support staff working in accounting, finance and wider business careers.  Job opportunities are excellent for those with Accounting Technician qualifications.  Increasingly Accounting Technicians occupy positions of responsibility in middle management and many go on to take Chartered Accountancy qualifications.

The AAT qualification is in three stages:  Level 2 to level 4.

On completion of level 4, you are able to apply for Membership to become entitled to use the letters MAAT.

Each level is held over one year and is taught one day per week, or 2 evenings per week.

You will be assessed by a number of computer based examinations which are externally set and marked by the AAT as well as some internally marked projects.

Progression

Completion of each level will enable progression to the next level. Completion of level 4 will lead to exemptions from degrees in accountancy and the professional chartered accounting qualifications.

Level 3 is worth 160 UCAS points.

Additional Information

You will be required to pay AAT student membership fee directly to the AAT (subject to confirmation). Assessment fees will be payable to the college for one attempt in each subject. You will also be required to buy books before commencement of the course. For full details please refer to our current part-time course guide or contact the Helpzone 01423 878211
