Description

This programme has been designed to enable students with a strong creative desire to access vocational Art and Design study. The Level 2 programme allows for broad based Art and Design study in core subject areas including:

Drawing
Design
Visual Communication
Lens Based Media

Functional Skills support the studies and are progressively developed throughout the course.

The course enables you to experience Printmaking, Graphics,
Fashion, Textiles, 3D Design, Fine Art and Photography. Visits to galleries and field trips are an essential part of the programme.There are opportunities to undertake additional studies to run in parallel with the programme.

You will learn about 2D and 3D Visual Communication, research the development of Art and Design through history to the present day,explore and develop Art and Design ideas and produce an Art and Design outcome. You will also get the chance to follow specialist units including:

Graphic Design
Photography
Fashion Design
Textiles
3D Design
Visual Arts
3D Design Crafts

Progression

On successful completion of this course, you will have the opportunity to progress onto a higher level of study within the College on a range of specialist art and design courses at National Diploma level.
