This Health and Social Care qualification provides a perfect introduction to Health and Social Care at Level 2 and on completion offers many opportunities for you to further your career in this area of work.
Health and Social Care is a very rewarding profession which provides you with the opportunity to care for others and make a positive difference to people’s lives.
The course is also an ideal progression route to continue training and study at level 3.
This qualification is a vocational course which offers practical experience, through work placements and specific knowledge, understanding and skills required which are relevant to your specific area of work.
You will liaise with the college placement co-ordinator to organise a placement to suit your individual interests.
The course consists of mandatory units including Communication and Individual Rights in Health and Social Care. Individual needs and Ensuring Safe Environments in Health and Social Care.
And four optional units including The Impact of Diet on Health, Vocational Experience in a Health or Social Care Setting and Anatomy and Physiology.
Assessments take place on a continual basis in the form of assignments which are broken into different tasks.
These may be presented in the form of written pieces, presentations, role play scenarios, research tasks, projects and posters. These tasks are also based on a case study or a real life experience.

After completing a Level 2 qualification you may like to either progress onto the level 3 Health and Social Care qualification or enter employment in the many different professions such as:

This could lead to following our work based apprenticeship programmes offered by the college.
Functional Skills are an important aspect of development and you will follow a programme in Maths, ICT and English, which are invaluable skills required when working in a Health and Social Care setting.
CRB- An enhanced Criminal Record Bureau check will be carried out on all students on entry. You will be asked to complete a form and show proof of identity.
